An AI design checklist before printing labels and stickers

Check the file at its real size

A design can look clear when zoomed in and become unreadable on a small label. Confirm width and height in millimeters, inspect a proof at actual size and ask the printer about its preferred format and finishing requirements.

Review all copy and product details

Read every line, including small text. Compare names, sizes, quantities and product details against your approved source. Remove placeholder text. For multilingual versions, confirm the language and characters render correctly in the exported file.

Protect edges and important content

Keep essential text away from cutting and folding areas. Check the bleed and crop-mark settings against the print supplier’s specification. Inspect each side separately and avoid assuming a visually centered layout will align perfectly after finishing.

Test barcodes and QR codes

Use the real approved code content rather than a decorative example. Scan the exported proof and a physical sample at the intended size. Check contrast, surrounding clear space and the destination of each QR code.

Choose the file and approve a sample

Export PDF, SVG or PNG as requested. Reopen the exported file to inspect fonts, images and size. Print a small sample before a large run; paper, ink and finishing affect the result. Keep the approved file and its editable source together.
